Hello friends, Last week I learned about the differences in cabinetry and mill working. We are looking for a new source for the franchisee build out materials in the hopes of cost their costs a little. At the moment the franchisees are buying cabinetry with real wood, and out construction manager wants to switch to laminates. I’ve toured a millwork plant and can tell the difference in real woods, veneers and laminates. I could never choose cheap laminates over real wood. If I was building a new custom home, I would insist on the very best cuts of hardwoods for my flooring, wainscotting, wood moldings and especially the doors. Scotland Neck Heart Pinespecializes in this very thing and you can see a world of difference in quality millwork versus prefab materials. I dream of building a true log cabin or timber frame home up in the mountains. Or is it down in the mountains? I found the perfect home site about an hour south of here. I would love to build a cabin and use heart pine throughout my new weekend home. It’s beautiful, it’s environmentally friendly, and will last more than a lifetime. You see pictures of it on the antique heart pine floorings, and if you like it, too they have other easy to find options on their site, like reclaimed solid wood flooring, old growth heart pine, and gorgeous wood beams. Thank you.
